Here are some of them:

Ljunghusen beach  in Sweden has come to be one of my favorite beaches of all! I shot these images during a trip to Sweden to visit my twin sister. Ever since I stumbled upon a number of serene Art prints originally painted by Olivier Raab back in the -70s (also featured on the right hand side of this page), portraying the beautiful Ljunghusen beach, the dunes, and the pretty white beach huts, I was a complete gonner.
When doing some research on the Art prints and the location, I realized to my joy that my sister lives just a short car drive away from this particular beach, making it "a must" each time I visit.

These images I shot on the  coast of Helsinki
in Finland, of which most of them at our family's summer
cottage. This is where all my summers were spent since the
time I was born all through to adulthood. Even now, when
living abroad, I make sure to spend at least a few weeks out
there each summer recharging my batteries.

In addition to Fine Art Photography (many images
also available as Black & Whites),
I also carry  Words Of Wisdom posters,
greeting cardsand last but not least,  my own
which for me are a true labor of love.

My head is now buzzing with new creative ideas!
More products are coming soon.

Please do check out my  shop!
I'd love to hear what you think!

The Secret of Embracing Change ~ a birthday tribute

*  *  *  *  *

Today, on May 23rd is my darling twin sister Ava's and my birthday :)

In tribute to my sister, I'd like to introduce YOU to her inspirational blog:
THE SECRET OF EMBRACING CHANGE

As quoted from her blog, ''The Secret of Embracing Change is a blog about personal growth, personal leadership and personal transformation. It is about embracing life with its ups and downs. It is also about attracting more possibilities, creating more opportunities and living more fully''.

In her blog, Ava hopes her readers will find something of value that can help them on their path.

Here are some of the topics she writes about:

Change is the law of life , a post that gives the word change a whole new meaning.

... Love the poem in the post called Success

The road to success is not Straight,
There is a curve called Failure,
a loop called Confusion,
speed bumps called Friends,
red lights called Enemies, and
caution lights called Family
But if you have a spare called Determination,
an engine called Perseverance,
insurance called Faith, and
a driver called Strength,
you will make it to a place called Success!!
- Niderah

... and the YouTube clip in the post called Embracing Change with Love

... the quote in Find your own Truth

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” - Buddah

.... and the amazing post 7 steps towards Embracing Change

1. Know that change begins within
2. You are what you listen to
3. Deposit into your self esteem account
4. Look for solutions not problems
5. Become your own best friend
6. Know there is a huge difference between existing & really living

7. Embrace the Abundance mentality

All 7 steps are explained in detail in the actual post

... and her spot on post called Harnessing intuition to achieve career goals, which not only applies to our careers, but to EVERY AREA of our lives, which is how I personally experienced it.

Ava also posts little Change Tips, which are short but to the point and very useful in my opinion.
I also love the links she has listed under SOURCES OF INSPIRATION

To me each one of Ava's posts have been a pleasure to read as well a mind opener and I can't wait for the next one. I recommend you check it out yourselves :).

Even though we live far apart, Ava in Sweden and me in the Netherlands, we both share the same passion and interest for WHITE and shabby chic interiors, with a touch of Scandinavian Country meets New England meets Provence :). Ava has a great eye for detail and is amazing in transforming any kind of wooden furniture, be it an IKEA book shelf to an old children's bed or cabinet dating back to the early 20th century which she has bought for a bargain.

She has also managed to turn their home into a beautiful haven of harmony. You can probably imagine how much fun we have going shopping together, especially as it doesn't happen all that often. And that is as a matter of fact exactly what we did last weekend when she came for an extended weekend visit together with her little family :). Miss you guys !!

I hereby want to wish you dear sis
a HAPPY and JOYFUL birthday
filled with LOVE and LAUGHTER

The same wishes go out to Ava's
adorable little son Colin,
my nephew and godson who turns 3
just one day after us, on May 24th

Here is a virtual birthday cake big enough for both of you coming your way - by air :)

The little misses 6th birthday

My daughter Noa just turned 6 and I made her this pillow case for her birthday.

She needed more storage space in her room for all her toys and some of her clothes and actually wished for a WHITE closet of some sort (not really something a 5, almost 6 year old usually wishes for :D). We got her this IKEA Aspelund 3 drawer chest which is very affordable and has the right look at the same time. Most of her other presents were tucked away inside the drawers :).

This is how it looked all prettily wrapped up :D. You can imagine how big her eyes turned when she woke up and saw this huge present in her room. It was awesome!

Her room isn't very big, yet I think the chest drawer just fits.

This mirror she got for Christmas. Also something she'd wished for.

take care,
